About AntiSpyware Compare

We are computer engineers and Internet security specialists who have been involved with Internet security since 1998. We use the software we review on our own computers and test them regularly for spyware removal capability as well their overall impact on the computer user. After all, nobody wants a spyware remover that uses too much memory and slows the computer to a halt or one that makes you disconnect from the Internet before using it.

The anti-malware software we evaluate and review on this site is commercial in nature and sold only by legitimate organizations with ongoing sales of anti-spyware software. We do not consider free software or web-based solutions and do not recommend them as practical solutions for spyware or virus removal.

Why We Compare AntiSpyware

There are many untrue claims and misinformation regarding the usefulness of some anti-spyware and anti-malware software. We’ve found many situations where anti-spyware software DOES NOTHING at all! But people still download and use the software and in some cases pay money for it. There are websites at the far reaches of the Internet where hackers buy fake antispyware and inject their own malware into it before selling it to unsuspecting computer users looking to “speed up” their PC or “optimize” for performance. After 30 days, we run a complete analysis that details how many malware attacks were stopped and how many were able to get through. We also monitor the computer performance while the software is installed and assign a numeric value to each product in each category we test. The higher the number, the better its score.
